Every Man’s Health

Emerging Therapies

Medicine keeps moving forward. So should medical care. Every Man’s Health evaluates and uses newer treatments when they offer a reasonable opportunity to improve a patient’s health, function or quality of life.

New Treatments Worth Considering

New approaches are changing weight management, hormone and sexual health, recovery and regenerative medicine. Three areas give a sense of it.

Next-generation metabolic medicine. Medicine is moving beyond today’s weight-management treatments toward newer approaches to metabolic health — including some intended to improve weight reduction and body composition while better preserving muscle, which is already a priority in how this practice approaches weight.

Peptide therapeutics. This is a broad category, ranging from peptide medicines already used routinely to newer compounds being investigated for metabolic health, recovery, tissue repair and other applications. “Peptide” describes a type of molecule, not the strength of the evidence behind a treatment.

Regenerative medicine. Stem-cell biology, extracellular vesicles and related approaches are being studied for their potential to repair, restore or influence damaged tissue and biological function. The field is developing rapidly, although individual approaches are at very different stages of clinical development.

These are areas in which medicine is changing. We intend to understand them well enough to use worthwhile advances as they become medically appropriate.

Leading Edge, Not Novelty for Its Own Sake

Being willing to use new medicine does not mean using everything new. The standard is the one we apply to established treatment: does it make sense for this patient, is there enough reason to think it may help, can it be used responsibly, and can we tell whether it is doing what it was meant to do?

Sometimes that leads to a newer treatment. Sometimes it means waiting. Novelty on its own is neither a reason to use something nor a reason to dismiss it.

Your Health. Your Decision.

Your health belongs to you.

You should understand your options, ask difficult questions and take an active role in decisions about your care. Our responsibility is to bring medical knowledge, experience and judgment to those decisions, and to tell you plainly what we think.

Among medically reasonable choices, your priorities matter.

If there is something you have been wondering about, ask.
